UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023: Selection Procedure
The selection process for AFA, IMA, INA, and Officers Training Academy posts consists of the following stages:

UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023: Exam Pattern
Candidates must clear the CDS Written Examination to qualify for the interview round. Here is the exam pattern for each position:
- The question paper for General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set in Hindi as well as English.
- Each paper will have Multiple-Choice Questions.
- There will be a penalty of 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer.
- The duration of each exam is 2 hours.
For Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:
- English: 120 marks, 2 hours duration
- General Knowledge: 120 marks, 2 hours duration
- Elementary Mathematics: 100 marks, 2 hours duration
For Officers’ Training Academy:
- English: 100 marks, 2 hours duration
- General Knowledge: 100 marks, 2 hours duration
Note: The maximum marks allotted to the written examination and interviews will be equal for each course. The maximum marks will be 300 for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, and 200 for Officers’ Training Academy.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023: Result
After the successful conduct of the written exam, UPSC will announce the result for the shortlisted candidates for the interview round. The result for each stage will be released separately. To check the result, candidates need to visit the official website of UPSC and look for the “Written Result” tab. A PDF file will be available with the roll numbers of the selected candidates.
