Eligibility Criteria For BPSC High School Teacher 2023

Required Academic and Professional Qualifications for Teachers from Class 9 to 10 in General Subjects:

A minimum of 50% marks in the specified subject/subject group, including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or its equivalent) with recognition from a recognized university or an institution accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in Education with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Ed.).

Or

A minimum of 45% marks, including Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or its equivalent) from a recognized university or institution, and a four-year degree in B.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. in the specified subject/subject group, as per the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002, and the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulation-2007, which are notified on 13.11.2002 and 10.12.2007, respectively.

Or

A four-year integrated degree of B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. in the specified subject/subject group from any institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Important Guideliness:

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Extremely Backward Class/Backward Class and Divyang candidates will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying criteria for academic and professional qualifications for the appointment of teachers in schools from Class 9 to 10.

The subject group for the appointment of teachers from Class 9 to 10 will be as follows:

(i) Mathematics:

A candidate must have studied Mathematics along with Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Chemistry/Statistics as two subjects at the Bachelor’s level or have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with specialization in Mathematics.

(ii) Science:

A candidate must have studied Zoology (Animal Science), Botany (Plant Science), and Chemistry at the Bachelor’s level or have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with specialization in Science.

(iii) Social Science:

A candidate must have passed in two subjects from History, Geography, Economics, and Political Science under the Assistant Subject/Optional Subject at the Bachelor’s level, with History or Geography being a compulsory subject.

(iv) Language-related subjects: Hindi/English/Arabic/Farsi(Persian)/Urdu/Bangla/sanskrit

For the position of a secondary school teacher, it is mandatory to have the relevant language subject taught at the Bachelor’s level as a language subject related to the medium of instruction.

Note:

Candidates who possess the required academic qualifications, have passed the eligibility examination, have completed teacher training, and are appearing for the teacher training examination, may also apply for the position of school teacher. However, it is necessary that the teacher training examination be completed by August 31, 2023.

They will need to provide proof of participation in such an examination by August 31, 2023, including the admit card and the exam result, along with all the necessary documents verifying their eligibility, as requested by the commission for verification. After verification, their training eligibility will be considered valid. At the time of application, they must also provide a self-declaration statement.

If all the aforementioned documents are already issued prior to submitting the application, the option based on the self-declaration will not be applicable, and such candidates must mandatorily include these documents in the online application and provide their photocopies as well.

For example:

 Candidates for classes 1 to 5 who possess the required academic qualifications and have passed CTET Paper-1 but are in the final year of the teacher training course related to the qualification, may also apply for the position of school teacher, provided that the teacher training qualification examination is completed by August 31, 2023.

iv) Age Limit:

(i) For appointment to all positions, the cut-off date for minimum and maximum age limit will be 01.08.2023. (ii) For primary school teachers, the minimum age for candidates applying on or before 01.08.2023 is 18 years, and for candidates applying for secondary and higher secondary school teachers, the minimum age is 21 years as of 01.08.2023.

(iii) The maximum age limit is 37 years for unreserved (male), 40 years for backward classes, extremely backward classes, backward class women, and unreserved women, and 42 years for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (male and female). (iv) The retirement age is fixed at 60 years.

Age Relaxation:

Qualified candidates who have passed the eligibility examination prior to the implementation of these rules will be given a relaxation of 10 years in the maximum age limit in the first transaction of appointment after the implementation of these rules, based on the date of 01.08.2023.

However,

(i) For candidates who have passed the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2019 (advertisement number – 373/2019) and are applying under the current advertisement, the maximum age limit relaxation will be based on the date of 01.08.2019. Similarly, for candidates who have passed the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2022 (advertisement number 01/2023) and are applying under the current advertisement, the maximum age limit relaxation will be calculated based on the cut-off date of 01.08.2022.

(ii) Candidates who have passed the Computer Science subject in the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 will be eligible for a maximum age limit relaxation of 08 (eight) years based on the date of 01.08.2019. (iii) The maximum age limit will remain relaxed for appointed and serving teachers in Panchayati Raj Institutions and Municipal Corporation Institutions.

(iv) The claim of exemption from the maximum age limit beyond the determined age of 10 years for persons with disabilities, as per the resolution memorandum 962 issued by the General Administration Department, Bihar, dated 22.01.2021, will be considered unofficial unless a certificate issued by the competent authority is submitted.

(v) Candidates from the general category must obtain a minimum of 40%, candidates from the backward class must obtain a minimum of 36.5%, candidates from the extremely backward class must obtain a minimum of 34%, and candidates from scheduled caste/scheduled tribe, women, and physically disabled candidates must obtain a minimum of 32% marks in the written examination. Otherwise, they will be disqualified from the competitive examination.

BPSC High School Teacher: Selection Process

The selection process for the BPSC High School Teacher position involves a written examination, which consists of two parts: Part-I and Part-II. There is no interview conducted, and candidates are directly appointed based on their performance in the written exam.

Part-I: Language Paper

The Language Paper is qualifying in nature and is divided into two parts: Paper-I and Paper-II.

Part-I (Subject Paper) consists of 80 questions carrying 80 marks.

General Studies Paper:

The General Studies Paper is based on the syllabus of Secondary School.Questions in this paper will be related to Elementary Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science, Indian National Movement, and Geography.

Part-II consists of 40 questions carrying 40 marks.

Points To Be Noted:

The written examination for all school teachers will be subject-specific and multiple-choice (MCQ-based).

Negative marking will be given for each wrong answer

Candidates can choose any one subject in which they have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test.

If the candidate has passed the Teacher Eligibility Test in one or more subjects, even in that case the candidate can choose only one subject as per his/her wish.

Candidates from the general category (UR) must obtain a minimum of 40%,

Candidates from the backward class (OBC) must obtain a minimum of 36.5%,marks

Candidates from the extremely backward class (EBC) must obtain a minimum of 34%, marks

Candidates from scheduled caste (SC)/scheduled tribe (ST), must obtain a minimum of 32% marks

Merit List:- On the basis of the result of the written examination, the Commission will prepare a provisional merit list of the successful candidates. In case of equal total marks in written examination (objective) first in age and in case of equality in age, the candidate whose name is alphabetically in Devanagari script will be given preference.

Application Process and Allocation of Teacher Posts and Districts

i) In the event of applying for more than one teacher’s posts in the light of the published advertisement, they will submit only one online application indicating the priority of the cadres according to their prescribed educational qualification and age. The preference of different categories of school teacher as per the qualification of all the candidates has to be entered in the online application.

ii) According to the order of merit, only one post will be allotted to the successful candidates on the basis of preference given by them for school teacher and availability of vacancy. After allotment of any one preference category, candidature will not be considered in the remaining categories, on which the candidate will not have any objection. A declaration to this effect will have to be made by the candidate in his/her online application.

iii) Candidates will have to give preference of three districts in descending order at the time of applying. District will be allotted to the successful candidates on the basis of preference and merit given for the district. According to the merit of the candidate, in case of non-receipt of any of the three preferences, he will be allotted the district with the vacant post according to the English alphabet.

iv) After the selection of the finally successful candidates, after the appointment of the selected candidates, the posting will be done by the District Education Officer in the concerned district on the basis of Merit-cum-choice, but if there is no vacancy in the school of preference on the basis of merit, the available vacancy According to this, posting can be done in any school.

Other Instructions:

(i) A candidate can participate in the examination a maximum of 03 (three) times.

(ii) The Commission will not provide the right to the recommendation appointment until the satisfaction of the Administrative Department, after checking all the necessary documents, that the candidate is suitable for appointment as a school teacher in all respects.

(iii) The Commission will assess the eligibility of the candidates based on their self-declaration related to qualifications mentioned in the advertised online application form for the school teacher.

(b) In view of the applications received in response to the Commission’s advertisement, action will be taken to conduct the examination considering the claims made by the candidates regarding academic, professional qualifications, Teacher Eligibility Test, and other qualifications as true. After the Commission prepares the final merit list, the Department of Education will verify the authenticity of the claims made by the candidates in their eligibility application at their level. After verification of the claims made by the applicants and their submitted documents, the merit list can be modified by the Administrative/Education Department.

BPSC Primary School Teacher Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2023

The Exam will be conducted in two phases

i) Language Paper : The language paper is qualifying in nature where it is divided into 2 parts Paper- I and Paper- II.

Paper -I:  is of English Language which consist 25 Questions of 25 Marks

and

Paper -II:  is of Hindi Language / Urdu Language / Bangla Language any one of the three languages ​​will have to be selected. Paper -II Consist 75 Questions of 75 Marks.

 *At least 30 percent is mandatory to qualify this paper, including both the parts, but there will be no negative marking in it.

Application Fee For BPSC Primary Teacher Recruitment 2023

Candidates have to deposit Rs.200/- (two hundred) as Biometric fee for each post and the following fee for different reservation category wise:

(i) For general candidates – Rs.750/- (seven hundred and fifty)

(ii) 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) for SC/ST

(iii) For all reserved / unreserved category women candidates – Rs.200/- (two hundred)

(iv) Rs.200/- (Two Hundred) for candidates with disabilities (40% or more)
